Frequently Asked Questions
Q: VLC fails to open Foscam RTSP stream, what should I check?
Verify the RTSP Port. If your camera's RTSP port is 88, your URL must include it: `rtsp://admin:pass@IP:88/videoMain`. If the port is 554, you can omit the port suffix.

Quick Optimization Tips
- •Foscam often uses port 88 for RTSP rather than the industry-standard port 554. Double-check your Port settings!
- •For older Foscam models, you can append `?usr=[USER]&pwd=[PASS]` to the end of the URL if your player has issues with basic authentication headers.
- •Ensure that ONVIF is enabled in the Network settings tab if using network-managed automated sweeps.
