Step-by-Step Local Configuration

1

Download RTSP Firmware

Wyze cameras do not support RTSP on stock retail firmware. Go to Wyze's official support site and download the dedicated RTSP firmware ZIP for your model (v2, v3, or Pan).

2

Flash Firmware via MicroSD

Rename the extracted file to `demo.bin` (or `demo_wcv3.bin`), save it to a FAT32 MicroSD card, insert it into the camera, and power it up while holding the Setup button until the LED turns solid blue.

3

Locate RTSP Settings in App

Open the Wyze app, tap your camera → Settings (gear) → Advanced Settings. Scroll down to find the RTSP menu option.

4

Generate Stream URL

Toggle RTSP ON. The app will prompt you to create a secure Username and Password, then display your compiled RTSP stream link.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the RTSP option missing in my Wyze app?

The option will only appear if the camera has been successfully flashed with the specific RTSP-enabled firmware version. Check your camera's firmware version in Device Info to verify.

Quick Optimization Tips

  • Wyze has stopped actively developing RTSP firmware for newer models (like v4). For those models, you must use proxy systems like Docker Wyze Bridge or Scrypted.
  • Flashed cameras still connect to the cloud for app control, but the RTSP stream is transmitted completely locally.
  • Ensure you use a high-end MicroSD card (Class 10 FAT32) to prevent flashing failures.
