Frequently Asked Questions

Q: RTSP prompts for credentials but fails repeatedly, why?

This is almost always caused by Hikvision's hardened security settings. You must change the RTSP authentication mode to 'Digest/Basic' instead of strict 'Digest' in the security configuration.

Quick Optimization Tips

  • The stream path `/Streaming/Channels/101` breaks down as: Channel 1, Stream 01 (Main). `/102` represents Channel 1, Stream 02 (Sub-stream).
  • If streaming from a multi-channel Hikvision NVR, Channel 3 main-stream would be `/Streaming/Channels/301`.
  • Ensure your camera firmware is kept updated to mitigate legacy security vulnerabilities.
